The Post About Joyner Lucas's Music Video

Let’s talk about the Joyner Lucas music video. The video starts off with a white man wearing a MAGA hat and he’s mouthing the song and says the N word. And that’s what set me the fuck off. Many people have called this video “a conversation we need to be having about race”. But what you don’t realize is that this video is trash.

Now I don’t want to disrespect Joyner. I’m sure he’s a talented rapper and lyricist. It’s just that I’ve never heard of him before that music video showed up on my timeline. He dropped the music video some time this week and it has now garnered about 11 million views on YouTube, I believe.
The video shows a white man and a black man sitting across from each other discussing their racial grievances. The white man talks about how black people are lazy and they use slavery as an excuse. The white man also said that black people are too dependent on government assistance and that they are too focused on looking cool rather than taking care of their own kids. The black man talks about the systematic oppression that black people face, but somehow he describes it like that’s black people’s excuse for acting the way we do.

As if to say that racism is why black people act the way that the racist white guy thinks we do, which isn’t a sound argument if you ask me. The white guy is giving all of these affluent talking points like he’s Milo or Bannon. But the black guy just responds by basically saying that not all black people do the bad things you think they do. Honestly, the production of the video isn’t that bad, but the rap is more like a spoken word performance. Some of the lines are corny, but I don’t know why this video even exists.

I have to say that this video was a terrible idea. It doesn’t add anything to the discussion about race. It does not even display any intellectual conversation of any kind. It’s just two guys having an empty argument with no sound resolution. The end of the video shows the two of them hugging it out as if it is all okay. But it’s not okay. The white guy sits there talking about how black people are lazy and depend too much on food stamps;. He spits out racist ideology after another and the black guy can’t even clap back with any facts that disprove his racist claims. I think that everyone loves the end of the video because it shows how two different people can come to a truce. Well, a goddamn truce isn’t going to help us now.

Black people have wanted to be treated fairly and seen as human beings deserving of respect for a long ass time. And throughout history, white people have shown time and time again that they are completely incapable of treating people of color with respect. Black men are gunned down in the streets and statistically more likely to be pulled over by police. Black people convicted of nonviolent crimes are most likely to be charged with a longer sentence than white people who were convicted of the same crime. Black and latino families face housing discrimination and live in neighborhoods with underfunded schools. Black men are less likely to be hired for a job than a white man and could be more qualified than the white man.

African Americans are more likely to be stopped by police than white people. Black kids are more likely to be sentenced for life than white kids for the same crimes. Schools with more Latino and Black kids are more likely to be underfunded and probably don’t have AP classes or a Performing Arts program. White people are more likely to inherit land and money from their ancestors than black people and that’s because for a long time in American history black people couldn’t own anything! I know that white people STILL don’t think that race is not a big deal, but that doesn’t mean that this video is going to put a bandaid on racism. There are real discriminatory practices and ideologies that affect people of color every day. It’s not just people complaining. There is more to this discussion than just forgiving racist white people and being their friend.

The fact that people are applauding this video just shows what a huge mistake it was. We need to be having thoughtful conversations about race in our country and how it was built on the foundation of white supremacy. It’s not the time to hug it out. It’s time to hash it out

The Post About Mental Health Among LGBT Youth

The LGBT community accounts for 6.7 percent of the United States population. There are so many people who are a part of this community whether it be through their sexual orientation, gender identity, or both. We see them in our musicals and favorite tv shows. So many of them are work as firefighters, teachers, lawyers, or just stay at home parents. No matter where you may see them, LGBT people contribute to society and they matter to society. However, there LGBT youth who feel that it would be better if they had never been born. With more and more teens questioning their sexuality and gender identity, teens are becoming more in tune with who they are inside instead of who they have been socialized to act like. But that doesn’t mean that there are more people who accept LGBT people or youth. Often times, these people are parents of LGBT youth and that can have a negative impact on their mental health.

Between the ages of 15-18 or maybe even before that, teens spend a lot of time trying to fit in or trying to find their bae. However, not all teens think in the heteronormative way that their parents may have taught them. But many kids are bold and come out to their parents and their peers and that doesn’t really work out like they might imagine. Many young kids listen to music or their parents that might say homophobic things and they think that these messages are okay to repeat. Therefore, when they actually meet a peer of their own who is gay, they will react to that in the way they think is appropriate not realizing the impact of their words. Bullying is one of the many factors that impact young LGBT people’s mental health. Recent US studies in the past year show that 25% of adolescents have been diagnosed with an anxiety disorder and 10% indicate signs of mood disorders (Kessler et al. 2012). Many LGBT students miss school, don’t go to extracurricular activities, and avoid gender separated spaces because they feel unsafe at school. It can be for the reason of their gender expression or sexual orientation. Social acceptance among peers is an important impact on LGBT youth’s future mental and physical health.

One landmark decision for LGBT rights for young people was when Former President Barack Obama decreed that all US schools must allow transgender or gender nonconforming students to go to bathrooms that are consistent with their gender identity (LaCapria 2016). Of course, Number 45 withdrew federal protections for transgender students because he’s trash. However, it is important to acknowledge LGBT youth because they are 4 times more likely to take their own life or experience suicidal tendencies. Many LGBT students miss school, don’t go to extracurricular activities, and avoid gender separated spaces because they feel unsafe at school. It can be for the reason of their gender expression or sexual orientation. A new study shows that allowing transgender teens to transition shows a significant decrease in anxiety and depression (Lohr 2015). Recent studies show that many transgender youth show higher rates of suicidal tendencies, such as self harm than their peers (Connolly 2016). It is very true that transgender youth experience high rates of mental health challenges, but that is based on how they are treated for being transgender (Ford 2015). It is very important to have a LGBT inclusive curriculum so that students learn about people who are like them. However, this is not pushed in certain school systems because there is a lot of push back from school administrators and unrelenting parents.

Fear of rejection from family members is another factor that can dramatically affect young LGBT people’s future mental health (Maza 2010). Serious negative reactions can keep many LGBT people from coming out to their family members. Studies show that LGBT teens from accepting family members are known to have high self esteem. Many family attitudes are aware of the LGBT experience and how acceptance can positively impact their overall health in the future. However, LGBT teens who struggle with family values and religious beliefs that they have been taught their whole life can lead them to look to substance abuse, depression, and suicidal tendencies in order to feel hope. Many parents think that being gay is a phase or that they should at least wait until they are an adult to be sure. Nonetheless, there is a lot more information that family members can access than there was when they were younger and unaware of the LGBT community. The Family Acceptance Project did a study and found out that the average age people come out as transgender is 16. There are many behaviors that families practice that negatively affect their child, such as physically and verbally abusing, blaming the child when they are discriminated against, pressuring them to act more feminine or masculine, excluding them from family activities, telling them to keep their sexual orientation or gender identity a secret, and other behaviors. It is very important for families with LGBT children to gain access to information to create positive experiences for these children because it truly matters to overall mental wellness.

There is so much more that affects LGBT mental health in adult life as well. Discrimination within the workplace is still legal in many states in the US. There is also laws in place that can take away healthcare from LGBT adults and they can be kicked out of their apartment as well. Many LGBT people who came from religious households have low self esteem and are more likely to be exposed to HIV/AIDS because they did not have access to that information when they were young. Moreover, parents can still subject their LGBT children to conversion therapy or those children can be vulnerable to sexual assault because of their sexual orientation and gender expression. Mental health of LGBT student is something that affects their whole life. But it can be monitored and taken care of. We need to start right now when they are young people. They will face more troubles in their future, but right now, we need to protect them while they are still kids.

The Post About Jemele Hill's Suspension

On September 11, 2017, Jemele Hill tweeted: Donald Trump is a white supremacists who has largely surrounded himself with other white supremacists. White House press secretary Sarah Sanders called Hill’s comment a “fireable offense.” Then Trump himself weighed in on Twitter, calling on ESPN to “apologize for untruth” and claiming the network “is paying a really big price for its politics (and bad programming). People are dumping it in RECORD numbers.” By the way, ESPN is not losing subscribers because of its politics

In other tweets, she called Trump a bigot who is “unqualified and unfit to be president.” At that time, the network said Hill’s comments were inappropriate and that the network had talked to her. She put out a comment via Twitter apologizing for her comments being seens as a reflection of ESPN, rather than actually apologizing for her comments.

ESPN suspended the SportsCenter host over tweets she posted Sunday discussing the Dallas Cowboy’s and owner Jerry Jones’ vow to punish players who kneel for the National Anthem.

She was suspended for social media behavior while Trump threatens North Korea endangering lives of Americans. ESPN basically suspended her for hurting Trump’s feelings. It’s pretty sad that he is more upset about Jemele Hill than white supremacists. He is more upset about a black woman speaking the goddamn truth about him because he would never get mad at people who believe the same things that the people in his cabinet believe. ESPN refuses to defend Hill, but they don’t need to since plenty of people have voiced their support for Hill on social media. Whether they are attacking Maxine Waters, April Ryan, or Jemele Hill, Trump and his supporters are getting scared of black women who aren’t afraid to speak their mind. Jemele Hill said this during the week. “I can’t pretend as if this isn’t a challenging time in our country’s history. As a career journalist, I can’t pretend that I don’t see what’s happening in our world.”

The Post About Mike Ditka

In a radio interview, Mike Ditka, former NFL tight end and coach for the Chicago Bears, gave his thoughts on players kneeling during the anthem. He said that oppression has suddenly “become a big deal.” “Maybe I’m not watching it as carefully as other people.” He also said that oppression ended in 1917, which is an embarrassing lie. The fact that Ditka thinks that oppression ended a long time ago is precisely why the players are kneeling. They are kneeling to make people more aware of the mistreatment that black people go through in America.

Ditka’s opinion on the NFL protestors is sadly a reflection of the ignorance about United States history infecting much of the country. Ditka was 16 when Rosa Parks was arrested. He was 23 years old during the March on Washington in 1963. When Mike Ditka played for Chicago, Martin Luther King was there protesting against housing discrimination. Ditka’s final all-pro season as tight end with the Bears was the same year that the Civil Rights Act was passed. He was 29 when Martin Luther King was assassinated. NFL players protest to bring attention to the injustice of black people in this country that people don’t pay attention to. It is absolutely ridiculous that the Civil Rights Era was happening while Mike Ditka was alive and he didn’t even acknowledge it!

Most people don’t acknowledge the mistreatment of black people in our current times. 1 in 3 black men will spend time in prison at some point in their lives. 1 in every 13 black men aged 30-34 was in prison in 2011, versus 1 in 90 white men in the same age group. Black people are 3 times as likely to be searched than white people during traffic stops and twice as likely to be arrested. Of the population under 18, African Americans made up 17% of the total, 30 % of those arrested, 62% of those tried in adult criminal courts. Being tried as adults leads to longer and more severe sentences.

Despite studies that show black and white people use and deal drugs at equal levels, black people make up 37% of the people arrested for drug offenses. Once they get out of prison, black people are 3 times more likely to be disenfranchised than white people. White men with recent criminal records are far more likely to receive callbacks for job interview than black men with no criminal record at all. In this way, we already treat black people like felons. Black people are twice as likely as white people to be unemployed. This was also the same in 1954. The median wealth of white families is 13 times more than black families. A contributing factor is that white people are almost twice as likely to own a home, one of the country’s best paths to building wealth.

Just because you are unaware of the injustice in this country, doesn’t mean it’s not taking place.

The Post About Reina Gossett

A new Netflix documentary about iconic trans activist Marsha P. Johnson has been getting a lot of praise. Reina Gossett has alleged that filmmaker David France used her work without permission. She is a black trans activist. In an Instagram post, she goes into detail how she is borrowing money to pay rent, but David France took her work and is now making millions of dollars.

Reina researched, archived, digitized content inaccessible for decades. She interviewed Marsha and Sylvia’s peers and she did this without pay. She proposed in a grant application to make this film. France used the work and did not give her any credit. He did not compensate her financially, despite receiving a multimillion dollar deal from Netflix to make the documentary. France said he has a long friendship with Johnson, claimed that he cleared the matter with Gossett before proceeding with the film. He also added that he supported Reina and her partner Sasha’s work

Reina Gossett is a black transgender woman who reintroduced our generation to ourselves by uncovering and recentering transgender women of color revolutionaries. A black trans woman’s work about a black trans woman was used to make a film by a credentialed white cisgender man aided by Netflix’s millions. They erased her contribution to the documentary. A documentary about a black trans woman that is created and directed by a black trans woman is a lot more meaningful than it being directed by a white cisgender man.

The Post About Harvey Weinstein

Recently, the New York Times revealed that Harvey Weinstein engaged in rampant sexual harassment. There are more women coming forward with their stories of how they were assaulted by Weinstein. I will start this article by saying that what Weinstein did was a disgusting abuse of power. Georgina Chapman has left her husband due to these disgusting allegations. The Weinstein Company board of directors announces that Weinstein is terminated, effective immediately. It’s amazing how this company is better at firing people for sexual harassment than the White House is, but I digress. He also sent a desperate email to people who used to work for him to intercede on his behalf.

It doesn’t matter because Donna Karan and Lindsay already are. Donna Karan thinks that women were asking for it. Lindsay Lohan said that everything that is happening to him is unfair, but then again Lohan said we should give Trump a chance. So I ain’t listening to her.

Moreover, a woman’s clothing has nothing to do with whether she is sexually available. Also, saying that clothing carries this intent is not only wrong, it is offensive and unacceptable. These ideas stem from rape culture, which is a complex of beliefs that encourages male sexual aggression and supports violence against women. Moreover, I want to add that I have men who say that they think about sexual assault now that they have a daughter. You should hate sexual assault whether have or do not have a mother, sister, daughter, aunt, or any woman in your life. I am tired of men only seeing women as people after having a daughter. That just infantilizes the discussion. If you want things to be better for your daughter then do that by trying to make it better for adult women now.
In addition, we all know that he donated 1.4 million dollars to the Democrats, however that was just a sum total of all of his donations since 1990. He was never that huge of a player in Democratic politics. There are many Democrats who are returning his donations and it’s not like Republicans rebuked Roger Ailes who has given Republican candidate 1 trillion dollars in free ads. Moreover, no one wants to talk about how the NRA donated 30 million dollars to Trump’s campaign.
There have been many men and women of Hollywood who have stepped forward and condemned Weinstein’s allegationsMilo Ventimiglia echoed the need for support for women accusing Weinstein. “Men have a great responsibility in general,” he said. Jeff Bridges said this at the “Only the Brave premiere. “It’s important anywhere, any job place no woman should feel objectified, no woman should feel sexualized. It’s 2017 and we need to get over that shit. It’s not cool.” Kate Winslet calls the accusations appalling and disgraceful, yet she’s starring in a Woody Allen film. Matt Damon has spoken out against Weinstein’s accusations, but I don’t really trust what he says. Ben Affleck said he was appalled by Weinstein’s accusations, but recently Hilarie Burton came forward to say that he did grope her on television. Also, Ben Affleck wasn’t that disgusted when his brother Casey was accused of sexual assault as well.
and
Harvey Weinstein is apparently leaving the country for treatment for sex addiction. But I want my readers to understand that he is not addicted to sex. He is addicted to abusing, humiliating, and violating women. Weinstein is addicted to power and his ability to abuse it to his will. Weinstein did use sexual acts to inflict abuse upon women, but that does not mean that it has anything to do with sex. Sexual assault is about power, which relate to Terry CrewsTerry Crews opening up on Twitter. He opened up about how he was sexual assaulted by a movie exec in front of his wife. This is why sexual assault can happen to a man and a women. If a 6 foot tall and over 200 pound man is scared to come forward, then don’t question why a woman is worried about what will happen to her if she comes forward.

The Post About Kenneka Jenkins

Kenneka, a 19 year old African American woman, was brutally murdered and raped. Her mother Tereasa Martin murder was contacted by her friends saying that they could not account for her whereabouts and that they were looking for her but they couldn’t find her. These accounts, reported by the mother, changed very often and there were often missing pieces to their stories. Martin went to the hotel and next morning and confronted hotel workers asking them to show her video footage of the night and asking them to help her look for her daughter.
They refused help or to lift a finger that did not help her in any way. They told her to report it to the police and file a missing person’s report. Then the police arrived at 3 or 4 p.m., mind you, her mother was at the hotel at 5am . They found her body in the freezer at the hotel. The police reported that she locked herself in the freezer, but it made no sense for her to lock herself in the freezer because the freezer doors were double steel doors. Even if she was drunk it would have been difficult to open those doors. Moreover, the freezer doors have an exit button which would have made it easy for someone to leave the freezer.
The story circling social media currently is that she was really murdered and raped by guys that join the party. There’s also a Facebook video filling around that may hold evidence to what happened that night. Her murder is a sign of how black women are the most disrespected race in America. What happened to her shows how the disappearance of black women and their murder is not met with the same ferocity and urgency that is usually met when it happens to white women.
The injustice that this young girl’s legacy is facing in this moment is reflective on what happens so often with black women. The misogyny that surrounds black women is a result of rape culture that makes men blame women who have been raped. The deeply rooted misogynoir in our society makes them blame your clothing and for being too sexual in Instagram photos. Also, women will turn around and say the same thing as a way to side with the same misogynoir that oppresses them as well. These statements are results of the rape culture prevalent in this society.
Moreover to the fact that many people believe that if she pick the right friends this would not have happened. Honestly, the only people who are at fault are the ones who raped this young girl. She did not deserve to die this way and she does not deserve to be forgotten. Her story must be heard because too many times this happens to young girls and it goes ignored. We must remember her name and her face so that people will never forget what happens to black women. We must teach our men to take care of and to protect black women.

The Post About Ed Skrein

Recently, Ed Skrein was casted as Ben Daimio in the “Hellboy” reboot: “Rise of the Blood Queen.” Many were objecting to the role not going to an Asian-American actor. The character is Japanese-American in Mike Mignola’s “Hellboy” comics. He released a statement on his personal social media that he has stepped down from the role.
The creative directors behind the film adaptation of this film released a statement as well. “Ed came to us and felt very strongly about this. We fully support his unselfish decision. It was not our intent to be insensitive to issues of authenticity and ethnicity, and we will look to recast the part with an actor more consistent with the character in the source material.”
There are too many white washed films being produced in Hollywood and often times there is huge backlash on social media over it. Between Scarlett Johansson in “Ghost in the Shell” and Emma Stone playing a Chinese-Hawaiian character in Aloha, white washing has been a huge problem in Hollywood.
Many times white actors, producers, and directors will make excuses to why they keep the actors casted in those roles.
Someone tell me what is so difficult with casting people of color in film and television, whether the character is make believe or based on a real person.
Scarlet Johanssen says on Good Morning America that her character was “essentially identity-less” and that she would never attempt to play a person of another race. But that’s what the fuck you did girl? That was a poor excuse because she further explained that the role was about feminism, not race. And too many times white women will focus more on things that will benefit themand not other women. There are plenty of talented Asian American women who could have been casted for this role and that would have benefited feminism more than a rich white woman who is constantly being presented with multiple opprotunities. Additionally, white people feel that being white is like being invisible, therefore, if they are casted for a role meant for an Egyptian or someone from an Arab country, they can simply slap on some bronzer and it’s basically the same thing. The generic everyman aspect to whiteness makes it so easy to have a casting room full of white actors and pick the best white guy to play this Hispanic man like Ben Affleck did in Argo or an Native American person like Johnny Depp did in Lone Ranger or like Nat Wolff in the Netflix adaptation of Death Note.
White washing is trend we need to let go. CBS, which can’t even cast diverse actors in their showsfailed to pay Daniel Dae Kim and Grace Park the same amount they pay their white counterparts. In earlier times, Hollywood casted white people to play black, Asian, and Native Americans, purely to hightlight harmful stereotypes that still believe in today. Now there are more actors of color on popular TV shows such as Fresh of the Boat, Blackish, Insecure, One Day at A Time, Queen of the South, and so many more. It is important that directors and producers take the time to cast actors, even if they are unknown, that match the ethnicity of the characters that they will play. Many people of color dealt with watching sitcoms and movies that depicted white families, white teens and their struggles, and white people going on adventures. It would be rare to see a Native American on television who was just a personand not a “savage” who was actually a white person with lots of dark foundation on. When you have more shows like East Los High and Dr. Ken, it makes people feel great that they are being represented as a part of society in popular media. It shows that they’re identity is their own and deserves to be shown in a true light.
When you casted a white person in place of a person of color in film, you are saying that their stories don’t matter. You are basically saying that placing them on screen is not worth your time nor your money, so you would rather face the consequences of angry consumers rather than accurately cast your movie characters. It doesn’t matter that Tilda Swinton was friends with Margaret ChoThat didn’t give her a pass to play a Himalayan mystic in Doctor Strange.
Audiences know when a movie is going to be lackluster waste of time. Time and time again, it’s been proven that films with a cast of diverse actors bring in big box office dollars and are critically acclaimed works. Insecure on HBO has been green lit for a third season and has a strong social media following. The Big Sick, which chronicals the real life romance between Kumail Nunjiani and Emily Kazan, is becoming one of the highest-grossing independent films of 2017. Get Out was the first movie to be a contender for an Oscar and went past the 200 million mark at the box office after having a 4.5 movie budget. Atlanta has a 100 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes, as well as Master of None, Insecure, Jane the Virgin, and so many other great shows.
Ed Skrein shows us that it is not that difficult to reject roles. He will not be devoid of roles in the future. Hopefully, white actors, producers, and directors will stop making excuses and make an effort to cast talented people of color in their new projects. Because I am certainly being tired of having to tweet out my frustrations in a long thread, pleading with Hollywood to acknowledge our voices and our stories. I just want people to see that our stories are worth telling and that you should give undiscovered or even very popular actors of color a chance, you will not be disappointed. The people who are making these decisions should know that they shouldn’t acknowledge that diversity is important after they casted the wrong person in an important role.

The Post About Taylor Swift's White Fragility

Recently, Taylor Wift shut down her Instagram and deleted many of old tweets. Then she posted a few teaser videos with snakes. Now she is supposedly dropping a new single and will be dropping a new album in November. Many people are reporting that the Internet is losing their minds over all of this news.

I think a lot of people are just fine.

Moreover, many people are calling this a surprise album drop. Just because she hasn't said anything since the election and is now releasing an album; that doesn't qualify as a surprise album drop.

Many of her fans are happy that Taylor is reclaiming the negative narrative that was surrounding her last year. When really this whole strategy is just another way for her to flex her white fragility in order to get what she wants. Taylor poised a black man that everyone already saw as crazy to be her enemy. They had said to have squashed their feud, but Taylor decided that she could benefit from Kanye being demonized by the media. She made a speech at the Grammy's about how no matter was thrown at this fragile white woman, she was able to survive the mean black man's hurtful words. That her success is because she rose above "people trying to take credit for your success". That's why Kanye never fought back. He knew that Taylor was seen as America's Sweetheart and that if he said anything then everyone would brush it off as him being an unstable black man. She spun the story around to benefit her and have everyone in the palm of her hand. It wasn't until Kim was fed up with this bullshit that she exposed Taylor on Snapchat for being a manipulative, soulless liar. Now Taylor is going to use this new albu as a way to portray herself as someone who was falsely accused of being a snake. She is going to make this album about how no matter what people say about her, she will remain unscathed and continue to succeed. Or in other words, no matter what you do, people will continue to believe this gentle white girl image she had spent her career building.

Taylor knew full well about the verse in Kanye's song "Famous" and she decided to turn it around so that she would be seen as the victim. It was easy for her because everyone else was saying it was sexist and she put her stamp of approval of being against it.

Of course, there is plenty of sexism and misogyny in the music industry. Female artists face sexism everyday when they are just trying to pursue their dreams. Whether it is with Rick Ross saying he would have to fuck a female rapper if she were signed to his lable or with Dr. Luke still having a job even after the Kesha lawsuit, men have always been glorified in the music industry and given a free pass to be sexist without consequence. And yes, hip hop has been repeatedly sexist and homophobic, however, there is a huge difference with making a song that is sexist against women and contacting someone about a verse that was about them and they okayed the verse. There is big difference between the two. When Taylor heard Kanye say the line to her that mentions her voice, she was excited that he was going to mention her in his song as it was obvious in the Snapchat video from Kim. Taylor must have known from that moment that she could take her and Kanye's new friendship as an opprotunity to demonize him and position her to be the victim.

After the Snapchat video came out, of course, Taylor Swift said that she wanted to excluded from the narrative. Mainly because she couldn't say that this never happened or what happened in the Snapchat video was misleading because everyone knew exactly what was going on in that Snapchat video. This whole feud starts when Kanye jumped on the stage at the MTV's VMAs in 2009 when he said that Beyonce should've won. It didn't help that the exact picture of the moment looks like the black man terrorising the innocent white woman. This picture also represents the idea of black men being a menance to white men is what constantly oppresses black men in larger way, such as with Emmett Till or with the Scotsboro Boys. And Taylor capitalized on that moment by using the incident to launch herself into the mainstreams consciousness. Kanye was using that moment to bring attention to the systemic racism in the mainstream music industry that repeatedly gives awards to white artists instead of to more deserving artists of color. Like with what happened at the 2016 Grammy's when Adele won Album of the Year instead of Beyonce winning it. People jumped on the train of calling Kanye crazy and an asshole even after he publically apologized for his outburst. Even after he explained that he didn't do that to offend Taylor, but to talk about how there are a lot of people in America who do not have a platform to talk about the racism that happens in our country.

Taylor has always been quick to be the statue of victimhood and how everyone is after her and trying to undermine her fame. Of course, she does face sexism within the music industry and there may be people who want to discredit her. But Kanye is not trying to do so. However, she might use this album to talk about that and, against, position herself to the fragile white woman in the media's eyes so that she can catapult back to being America's lovable girl next door. Instead of being seen as the manipulative lying white feminist that she is.

The Post About Marcellus Williams

In 1998, Felicia Gayle was murdered during a robbery. Following this, Marcellus Williams was charged and arrested for murder. In the 2001 trial, the court denied to test the murder weapon for DNA per William's attorney request. The newly acquired evidence showed that the DNA on the murder weapon did not match William's DNA. Moreover, hair samples that were found at the scene of the crime did not match Williams's DNA, but for a different male. Also, a footprint found at the scene does not match William's footprint. Moreover, William's conviction was obviously ruined by the racial bias of the case because prosecuters worked hard to keep black people off of the jury. 81 percent of cases with black defendents get convicted with an all white jury and many prosecutors go out of their way strike black jurors from the selection process. Williams was also prosecuted under the St. Louis prosecuter Bob McCulloch, who failed to indict Darren Wilson for the murder of Micheal Brown in 2014. The prosecuters were confident that they could get a conviction without any DNA evidence because Felicia's stolen laptop was found in a car and two people who told the police that Williams confessed to the killings. One man was a jailhouse snitch and the other person was William's ex girlfriend who was in need of money and took advantage of the $10,000 reward. Moreover, the car that had Gayle's stolen laptop wasn't even registered to Williams.

By now you can see how ridiculous this is. These people are literally doing gymnastics in order for this man to go away for a long time. They are doing whatever they can so that this man will die. For what??? I don't know!!! Racists don't give an explanation as to why they are racist. They just want to pin this murder on this innocent man. So sad. But I'm not done.

In 2015, the Supreme Court of Missouri issued a last-minute stay of execution to allow Williams to obtain DNA testing. The results came back proving it was someone else and not Williams' DNA on the knife. The court denied him a chance to present that evidence and summarily denied the case without issuing any written explanation. Then the court gave Williams an execution date of April 22, 2017.

Governor Greitens halted his execution for a panel of 5 retired judges to review the case with the newly discovered evidence.

I am really glad that this story made to CNN that afternoon because I saw my dad watching it. I am also grateful that this execution was halted. But that does not mean that he will be dismissed for the charges. They might find something else to charge him with so that he can still be imprisoned. But we will see what happens from here.

PSA to Conservatives: YOU ARE NOT A VICTIM!!!

Here’s the thing with Conservatives now. They hate the fact that there are so many people in their mentions and in their lives that are questioning their stance in politics. Now that so many people must face the fact that there are literal Nazis within our country, we are becoming more aware of what’s going on. We are all focusing more on what people are saying to other people and how they interact with different people that they are not used to being around.

If you are a Republican and you think that you are a victim, shut up. You are not a victim at all. Your rights are not being threatened every day by an unstable old white man in the oval office.

You think just because people are being mean to you that you can cry like a baby? People are acting this way towards you because of what you vote for! None of you did anything to truly oppose Trump's presidential campaign. You didn't really do anything when he said that he would defend his supporters if they beat up black people in the street in Trump's name. Ya'll didn't blink an eye when he came down that escalator and called all "Mexicans" rapists. Moreover, I didn't see one person with an american flag in their twitter handle oppose Trump's proposition of a Muslim ban. And now that this man is in office and trying to take away our healthcare, you are upset that a girl with a safety pin in her twitter handle called you an asshole? Buck the fuck up.

People are not being mean to you because you disagree with them. They are speaking you in a way that makes you feel attacked. Because you are not used to having your political views challenged by so many people. And now you feel like it’s more popular to be a leftist and that you are a minority. You are absolutely not a minority. You still have the majority of the House and Senate and the OVAL OFFICE. Also, the literal leader of your country is in bed with white supremacists and people who want to take away people’s rights so badly every chance that they can get. When you are okay with people taking away rights from marginalized people, you are like them. You have the same mindset that this country is somehow broken because people from different countries come here for a better life and end up doing dishes in the back of an IHOP or have to sell oranges on the side of the road. You all kept repeating the same rhetoric on

Stop comparing yourself to people in the 50s. I am so sick of people saying that being a conservative now is like being a jewish person in Nazi Germany. That is not the case at all. People are not going into your homes, taking you and your family to a concentration camp so that you can work and starve for years. None of that happens to you. Also, you are thrown in an oven and burned alive!! No one is doing that to you just for voting to put an old dotty racist in the White House.

Alan Turing, well-known and hugely influential computer scientist, was forcibly chemically castrated for being gay in the 50's. James Damore is not Alan Turing. He isn't even close because James Damore, as it has been recently revealed, he wasn't even properly qualified for his former cushy job at Google. If you don't know who James Damore is, he wrote a 10 page memo on the internal Google message boards about how women are not biologically wired to have jobs in technology. Obviously he experienced fierce insecurity that he was surrounded by smarter women. And then he decided to write this memo to have people validate his feelings, but that ended up getting him fired.

Maybe it is time for you to cross the other side and understand why everyone kind of doesn't like you. Because this isn't going to end. There are plenty of centrist democrats talking to republicans. It's time to stop pushing for more police in Detroit and start funding science and math programs. It's time to stop focusing on closing down Planned Parenthood and to start teaching kids how to have safe sex in school so that you can reduce the teen pregnancy rate in your States. And perhaps you need to stop seeing all Muslim people are terrorists and start arresting the neo-Nazis and white supremacists that live in your states and work in your police forces, colleges, high school, banks, and other government buildings.

Oh yeah! And keep them out of the White House.

The Post About Transphobic Jokes

So recently Janet Mock went on the Breakfast Club to talk about her book and the whole interview created this wave on social media called #TransFolksArentJokes . Basically, comedian Lil Duval make a joke about killing a transgender woman if he found out she was transgender after he slept with her. I honestly hated the fact that Janet was going to do this interview because I know that Charlamagne is an asshole, but this is just disgusting. The fact that you invited a New York Times best selling author onto your show just to have your guest host misgender her is ridiculous. And then your guest host made this disgusting joke

Okay, I'm just gonna start on how I feel about this. Transphobic jokes lead to anti trans violence and murders. It is beyond time for everyone, whether you are transgender or not, to show up and saym trans folks are not jokes. That is what Raquel Willis said in her Twitter video in response to the Breakfast Club interview. People are also calling advertisers to the Breakfast Club to get them off the air and also people are calling for a boycott.

We need more folks, whether trans or not, to definitively state where they are when it comes to our humanity. The silence must end and if you're truly invested in liberation show up for trans folks publicly. Transgender people do not deserve to die because you are attracted to them. Men are too scared to let others know that they are attracted to someone who is transgender that they will kill the person to protect their masculinity. Transgender people do not have to reveal to people that they are sleeping with that they are in fact trans. Transgender people face discrimination and marginilization in all communities. Especially the black community. When Lil Duval made that joke and Charlamagne laughed, it legitimizes that thought a cisgender man will have when he meets a transgender woman. Transgender people do die for just living their lives. Recently, a transgender woman by the name of Miss Tee Tee was found murdered today in Atlanta.

Black transgender woman are dying at an alarming rate. There have been 15 transgender deaths this year. Violent language and rhetoric towards transgender women of color continues to aid and abet the feeling towards them soon leads to their deaths. Condoning these jokes about transgender women of color is sooo wrong. Transgender people already face homelessness, cannot be allowed in public places, a great deal of chances for sexual assault, and often do not receive the appropriate healthcare that they need. And now there are people with huge platforms that are laughing at the thought of literally killing someone!!!!

The Post About North Korea

North Korea recently launched an intercontinental missile that has the potential to hit major US cities such as LA, Chicago, and Denver. Of course, this missile only has the potential to do this. It would still need a nuclear warhead in order for it to do real damage. Their technology hasn't be proven to be there, but this recent test is a grave warning to the US.

North Korea has been working on their nuclear arsenal since the 1950s with the USSR. The USSR was disbanded and then they had to keep supplying their nuclear arsenal on their own. The United States promised to help protect South Korea and Japan in case of an eventual nuclear attack. The United States has been trying to get North Korea to stop building nuclear weapons since the 90s. Bill Clinton tried to negotiate with them. Bush tried threatening them to stop. Obama tried to strategically wait them out. But now we are stuck with Number 45 who just tweets out nonsense because he doesn't know how to think like a rational human being. On Friday, North Korea demonstrated that they have a missile that can hit Alaska with a small nuclear warhead. North Korea couldn't figure out how to hit the United States a few months ago, but if they develop the technology any quicker then the US may not be able to protect Japan and South Korea. If North Korea figures out how to hit the US, the pretty soon South Korea and Japan will look into growing their own nuclear arsenal. This will lead to nuclear proliferation which is what past US presidents have been trying to avoid. If  we launch an attack on North Korea, then they will launch an attack on Seoul or Tokyo. North Korea's dictator is a self obsessed man with a completely obedient military and no empathy for other countries. The current leader of the free world has no foreign policy experience and practically no one working in the State Department who will be able to handle this. Also, he sends out random tweets that make no sense and are practically like empty bills that cannot become laws. If you shoot two loose and unpredictable canons at each other, you're bound to get blown up.

The Post About Transgender Servicemembers

President Circus Peanut has tweeted out that transgender people are banned from serving in the military. This is reversing an Obama-era policy.

Here's What I Think: I am not going to go too deep into what he said because you can go to another blog for that. But this blog I will write about how I feel. So fuck Number 45. No matter what your sexual orientation or gender identity, you should not be prohibited from the honor and privilege of serving our nation. Even the Pentagon was surprised by what he said, because the orange idiot tweeted it from his bedroom. The idiot didn't even consult any of the generals and military experts. Because apparently this circus peanut knows so much about the military, despite the fact that he didn't even serve because he faked bone spurs. Moreover, the idiot said that transgender people are burdensom or disruptive because they only join the military so that they can receive healthcare. Transgender people don't go through the extremely difficult training process for selfish reasons. They don't because they truly want to serve in the military. 1 in 6 transgender people are currently serving in the military. More transgender people have fought and died for this country than members of the Tr*mp family. Transgender people face abuse just for leaving their homes and then there are brave transgender people who will fight for their country as well. The cost of trans medical care in the military is 2.4 - 8.4 million dollars, however the cost the military spends on boner pills is 84.2 million dollars. Ya'll see the priorities of the military, right?
I just wanted to say that the care of transgender people is not a distraction. It is a human right. I stand with my transgender family. God bless you guys.

And please don't forget to donate!

The Post About Venus Wiliams

Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, police department falsely accused Venus Williams of killing an elderly man when she didn't do that last week. On June 9, 78 year old Jerome Barson was killed and his wife, Linda, terribly injured after Ms. William's SUV – going five miles per hour – entered an intersection, colliding with the Barson's car. June 30, in a Facebook post, Venus Williams addressed the accident. “I am devastated and heartbroken by this accident. My heartfelt condolences go out to the family and friends of Jerome Barson, and I continue to keep them in my thoughts and prayers.” Then, on July 3 at Wimbledon, the tennis media asked Williams about how she felt about essentially killing a man. The way they posed the question was awful. Venus started to make a statement, but soon she burst into tears and left the press conference to not come back. While the police investigation was still going on, TMZ released a video showing that Williams was innocent.  The police now say that Williams was driving lawfully in the intersection. Amid this trauma, Venus has advanced to the second weekend of Wimbledon, defeating Naomi Osaka, a 19-year-old player who was not even born when Williams first took to the grass courts 20 years ago. Her ability to persevere is stunning, but this is not a game. The police released this statement at the beginning of their investigation. That is a huge screw up! You don't reveal information to the public without any sufficient evidence to back it up. Also, this video was released by TMZ. If TMZ didn't get a hold of this video footage, would it have been released at any point during the investigation? Why would they do something this irresponsible and negligent?

Because she is a black woman. This whole case is a look into how police and white people in America treat black woman. They always assume that black people are at fault without even taking the time to consider any other possibilities. Venus Williams is one of the most stunning tennis players. Venus Williams also has Sjogren's Syndrome, an autoimmune disease which causes debilitating joint pain, swelling, numbness and fatigue. She already has to deal with this kind of disease while being one of the most amazing and graceful tennis players of our time. But now people wanna go around tarnishing her reputation like it's some kind of game. Williams has had to go against people on the tennis court who were barely walking or weren't even born yet when she was just learning how dominate the court. She and her sister are arguably some of the greatest athletes in the world and now this comes out of nowhere. Can you believe the pressure that she may be under to stay as accomplished as she is and also keep a level head above all of the bullshit she may face on a regular basis?

The Post About R Kelly

Recently, Buzzfeed news reported that R Kelly is holding 6 women in his home in a cult fashion. This news story broke when the families of the women came forward with the story. I honestly hate these news when women are being abused. R Kelly is not new to having sex scandals surrounding him. In 1994, he married Aliyah when she was 14 and he was 25. Aliyah lied on the marriage certificate and said she was 18. When the marriage was annulled, Aliyah said that “she was never the same” after the “relationship”. In 1996, Tiffany Hawkins and R Kelly got in a “relationship”. Tiffany was 15 and R Kelly was 27.

Now I am going to stop right here because if I keep going, I am going to be pissed off. R Kelly is a disgusting person who is obsessed with young women. He is an older man with more money and plenty of experience of manipulating younger women to do what he wants. He has also been charged with 21 counts of child pornography in Chicago and 12 counts in Florida. This man has allegedly had sex with children multiple times!! And people are still defending him!! When we fail to put people like R Kelly behind bars, we fail women. And more importantly, we fail black women. 60% of black women have been sexually harassed in their life. Black women will come forward with stories of men sexually abusing them and you will not believe them. Then they will be hurt and broken in their life and ya’ll wonder why there are so many broken black women in the world. This man have abused soooo many children!!! He abused minors, guys!! He needs to be in jail.

When we do not punish men who mistreat women, we are failing women. We need to be here to listen and support women when they speak up about sexual abuse. Bill Cosby was found not guilty and now the reruns have been ordered back again. There go all of our morals. That is a direct slap in the face to women who have been assaulted. They feel discouraged from coming forward because they see in real life how constantly sexual assaulters get away with this crime. This happens all of the time and I wish this would stop. R Kelly is an awful person who is not aware that what he is doing is messed up and wrong. Too many times we blame women for these things and the men just get away and keep doing it to other women. And the other women who are abused may not come forward and will stay silent. This is a depressing cycle that is persistent in today’s society. I really pray to God that R Kelly is arrested and that evidence comes forward for him to go to jail and not bail himself out before a trial. And yes, I know that one of the alleged captives have been making all of these Marina Joyce type videos. But these are obviously staged to look like she isn’t being held captive. These videos are lies and we need to wake up. I cannot wait for the day R Kelly goes to jail for a very very long time.
